FENCI
A downloadable game for Windows
FENCI is a high-stakes beat them up action game, with focus on mechanical fencing skill. The game's visual style is inspired by old pseudographical rogue-like games in DnD setting (like Nethack), and character design is influenced by ASCII emoticons we internet people used before emojis were a thing. In fact, there is not a single image file in game resources. Everything is generated from ASCII text strings.
This is a working technical demo version of a game I'm still developing. Bugreports and suggestions are welcome at https://github.com/ekorchmar/FENCI
This demo features:
– 9 weapon classes with innumerable randomly generated items
– 4 playable Arena-style levels with increasing enemy stats, aggression and loot quality
– Multiple playstyles supported by different equipment combinations
In the future releases you can expect:
– Armor and hats that enhance player stats
– Campaign featuring exploration of levels with complex geometry
– Unique bosses with special abilities
– Ranged weapons, like bows and magic wands
For Linux, just run the main.py after cloning the repo from Github.
For Mac, compiled version is available at request.
